Minimum Effective Dose

At the CrossFit Kids Cert last weekend, Jeff Martin talked about the minimum effective dose. What’s the least amount of stress I can put this kid under and still increase his fitness? Jeff mentioned Murph while making this point, saying that for someone relatively new to CrossFit, not looking to test their metal but looking to increase their fitness, Murph is overkill. Their fitness would be better served with a scaled down version. Put your body under just enough stress to increase your strength, stamina, flexibility, etc, but not enough to beat it down.

So, with that being said, if you’re a Novice today and were debating not coming down after seeing the site, fear not, you’ll be given a scaled down workout that’s going to be the best for you at your current level of fitness. If you’re Intermediate/Advanced and want to hit this endurance workout, it’ll be waiting for you when you get here.
