There’s running in a metcon today. You hate running. There’s two ways to look at this:

1) “Running? Now way I’m coming down today, I suck at that!”

or

2) “Oh great, there’s running in the metcon today. That’s something I need a lot of work on, this’ll be a really useful day for me to go to Crossfit”

People with the first attitude don’t tend to get very far. People with the second are usually kicking everyone’s ass in short order, and look like different people after about six months training.
